Green Initiative

For our Fourth consecutive year, UNITED FRANCHISE GROUP is making a strident effort to demonstrate eco-consciousness. Here are the many ways the 2010 World Expo will be more earth-friendly. Sustainability is not a fad, we're keeping it front and center at our groundbreaking event!
- Session handouts down-loadable after event.
- Re-usable drink bottles – water coolers available throughout location.
- Drinking glasses for meal functions not pre-filled.
- Recycling stations throughout convention level, exhibition aisles and food areas.
- Lighting use as necessary in meeting rooms and kept low for set up and tear down.
- CO2 sensors to regulate air conditioning in meeting rooms and to reduce energy use.
- Non-toxic and environmentally-friendly housekeeping products used during Expo.
- Porcelain dishes used during food functions to avoid unnecessary disposal.
- Milk, creamer, sugar and condiments served in bulk instead of individual packets.
- Leftover food sent to local food banks.
- Recycling stations arranged for name badge holders and lanyards.
- Exhibit Service Contractor provided exhibit kits via PDA documents.
- On-line registration including sending confirmations by e-mail.
- Pre-registration for meal function attendance to reduce food waste.
- Majority of signage will be electronic digital and eco-friendly fabric materials (bio-degradable).
- Show directory printed on paper made of recycled material.
