Green Initiative

For our Fourth consecutive year, UNITED FRANCHISE GROUP is making a strident effort to demonstrate eco-consciousness. Here are the many ways the 2010 World Expo will be more earth-friendly. Sustainability is not a fad, we're keeping it front and center at our groundbreaking event!

  1. Session handouts down-loadable after event.
  2. Re-usable drink bottles – water coolers available throughout location.
  3. Drinking glasses for meal functions not pre-filled.
  4. Recycling stations throughout convention level, exhibition aisles and food areas.
  5. Lighting use as necessary in meeting rooms and kept low for set up and tear down.
  6. CO2 sensors to regulate air conditioning in meeting rooms and to reduce energy use.
  7. Non-toxic and environmentally-friendly housekeeping products used during Expo.
  8. Porcelain dishes used during food functions to avoid unnecessary disposal.
  9. Milk, creamer, sugar and condiments served in bulk instead of individual packets.
  10. Leftover food sent to local food banks.
  11. Recycling stations arranged for name badge holders and lanyards.
  12. Exhibit Service Contractor provided exhibit kits via PDA documents.
  13. On-line registration including sending confirmations by e-mail.
  14. Pre-registration for meal function attendance to reduce food waste.
  15. Majority of signage will be electronic digital and eco-friendly fabric materials (bio-degradable).
  16. Show directory printed on paper made of recycled material.
  17. Show bags made of natural canvas fiber.
